2015 Doc Adams 1838 First Vines Shiraz

Impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Pronounced blackberry and liquorice aromas sit over subtlety smoked vanillin cedar, a faint whiff of dried meats and pepper. Big, rich and opulently textured the palate is saturated with succulent blackberry, dark plum and liquorice flavours which meld into some toasty vanillin oak and earthy blackpepper characters. Slightly dryish finish with a robust tannin structure largely concealed by the opulent fruit. Excellent concentration and power with a long aftertaste of ripe blackberries, liquorice, subtle dark chocolate, toasty vanillin oak, earth and pepper.
