Over recent years the Dalrymple Pinot Noir has taken significant steps forward both in terms of quality and consistency, so much so that it is now becoming difficult to procure on a regular basis.

Fruit was sourced from Dalrymple’s own vineyard at Pipers River and a grower in the Upper Derwent Valley. Each of these sites making its own unique contribution to the final blend with maturation taking place in French oak barriques.

Deliciously savoury, powerful and rich this is an outstanding rendition of Dalrymple Pinot Noir that delivers terrific value.

Quite deep in its dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark crimson red hue. Very fragrant the nose offers up aromas of dark cherries and dark plum laced with anise and subtle clove over some dried meats and spicy cedar. Light to medium weight, although slightly fuller than recent vintages, the palate is blessed with superb richness and an excellent power wave. Generously endowed with ripe dark cherry and plum flavours that are infused with subtle anise, clove and dried meat nuances it finishes very spicy. Velvety tannins further enhance to the wines savoury nature. Long spicy aftertaste of dark cherries, plum, anise, clove and dried meats.
Cellar 5-6 years.
