2015 Curly Flat Chardonnay

Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. Pronounced aromatics of ripe pear and white peaches intermix with dried honey and cashew followed by lightly roasted biscuity nougat nuances and spice. Very refined the palate sports a lightly creamed textural feel balanced against good freshness. Elegant and showing excellent complexity, flavours of dried pears, white peaches and citrus meld into notions of cashew, subtle dried honey, biscuity nougat and spice. Clean dry finish. Superb length with a long conclusion of ripe pears, subtle white peaches, cashew, traces of dried honey, biscuit and spicy nougat. A very elegant and refined Curly Flat that possesses great persistence of flavour.

This is a strapping Curly Flat. The wine has undergone 50% mlf to confer complexity, stability and poise on one hand; to retain natural acidity on the other. This strikes a creamy cord that parlays well with the wine's sheer extract, stone fruit and vanilla pod notes. The finish is long and emphatic, careening across a high pitched scale of mineral crunch and layered complexity, auguring well for a long future. Drink by 2028.
