2015 Chateau de Chamirey Clos du Roi Mercurey Premier Cru

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. A mixture of red, dark and sour cherry aromas flow out of the glass with earthy cedar, subtle old leather and spice notes ensuing. Light to medium weight and generously textured, the palate is amply endowed with rich dark cherry and strawberry fruit. Elements of earth, old cedar, subtle dried herbs and spice then move in. Supple mid palate feel finishing with bright acidity and slightly dryish tannins. Excellent drive concluding with a long spicy dark fruit, earth, old cedar and dried herb aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

There's a firm edge to this red, with dusty tannins dominating the berry and cherry fruit. A hint of sweet oak chimes in, but this needs time. With aeration, this finds equilibrium on the finish. Best from 2020 through 2032.
