Precocious. One of the surprise whiskies of the year.
Tasting note: [15ml sample] Already showing decent colour from maturation in two sherry hogsheads, to our knowledge, this is the youngest Ben Nevis ever bottled. Here’s something you wouldn’t expect - just four years old, but delivering balance as well as buckets of distillery character: The nose shows a little immaturity, but there’s that big oily Bennie attack, the huge rounded malty middle and the juicy orchard fruitiness starting to peak at the finish. Trace peat too. If it’s not the best four year old Scottish malt we’ve offered to date, it’s not far off. (Also probably as close as you're likely to get to the naked distillate, short of visiting the distillery). Bottled in 2020. 900 bottles. 47.5% Alc./.Vol. Non chill filtered.
