A small, family run business, Bruno Rocca have been growing grapes and making wine in Barbaresco for generations. Their Barbera d’Alba is sourced from vines with an average age of 50-60 years old with maturation taking place in French oak barriques for 12 months.

Opaque dark red black core with a bright dark red hue. Aromas of ripe juicy dark cherries merge with hints of liquorice and infusions of incense followed by subtle earth and fresh herb notes. Juicy ripe dark cherry and liquorice flavours dominate the medium bodied palate with incense, lightly scorched earth and spicy dried herbs adding a savoury edge. Finishes dry with bright acidity and slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of spicy dark cherries, a touch of liquorice, earthy incense characters and dried herbs.
Cellar 3-4 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
This warm vintage is well suited to the heat-loving Barbera grape. The 2015 Barbera d'Alba is a soft and plush red wine with a fleshy consistency and opulent flavors of black cherry and plum. This vintage reveals better balance that most, and the wine is articulate and expressive as a result. Drink 2017-2020.
