A brilliant Victorian Cabernet from Best’s blessed with finesse and a glowing red and dark fruit richness.

Excellent depth of colour displaying a totally opaque black dark red core with a bright dark red purple hue. Elevated scents of red and blackcurrant fruits as well as mulberries laced with a just hint of violets overlay subtle cedary tobacco characters and bay leaf. Medium bodied, a gorgeous array of generous red currant and mulberry flavours decorate the elegantly textured palate with just a touch of liquorice also chipping in over a back drop of very subtle cedary tobacco characters, bay leaf infusions and spice. There’s an initial suppleness to the rich red and dark fruits but then some slightly dryish finely grained tannins kick in providing the wine with great balance and poise. Finishes with a youthful freshness and a long aftertaste of red and blackcurrant, mulberries, cedary tobacco characters and spicy bay leaf. Will be absolutely superb with some bottle age.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
This is all about showing how elegance and intensity can be woven together to create the perfect medium-bodied palate. Blackcurrant, a waft of leaf, a glimmer of eucalypt and cedary oak/tannin nuances all join hands to support each other on the long, fresh palate. Don't be deceived: this will stand proud for 30+ years thanks to its immaculate balance. Drink by 2045.
