Matured in French and American oak for 14 months. Totally opaque black dark red core with a dark red hue. The nose expels aromas of liquorice, plums and blackberries followed by some prominent chocolatey vanillin oak, lightly scorched earth and spice. Plush dark plum, blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate flavours fill the medium to full bodied palate with vanillin oak and spice following. Velvety well integrated tannins with a medium length finish.

Other Reviews….
Estate-grown, one of only a few to hand-prune in Coonawarra, with meticulous canopy management, matured in American and French oak for 14 months. Good colour; this medium to full-bodied wine paints a picture of Coonawarra in rude good health, not a deceptive note anywhere in its body. Blackberry and blood plum are build on foundations of polished tannins and an echo of oak. Demands respect for its traditional estate winemaking. Drink by 2034.
