2014 Yalumba Hand Picked Shiraz Viognier

Co-fermented with 2% Viognier and matured for 15 months in French hogsheads and barriques. Opaque dark red black colour with a dark red hue. Refined aromas of liquorice and red berries are overlaid by some light smoky cedar, a hint of dried meats and pepper. Medium bodied with ample richness, generous flavours of liquorice and dark plums subtlety infused with lightly smoked cedar move elegantly across the palate, a touch of meatiness and spice ensuing. Velvet like tannins with a savoury aftertaste of dark plums, liquorice, smoky vanillin cedar, a light meatiness and spicy pepper.
