$839.88 Dozen
Cellar: 6 - 8 Years (2023-2025)

Planted in 1954, Johnson’s Block is the oldest surviving Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in Coonawarra.
Totally opaque black dark red core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Lifted ripe blackcurrant aromas tinged with hints of black cherries and liquorice meld into cedary tobacco characters with subtle spicy dried herb end notes. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses excellent richness with ripe red and blackcurrant flavours to the fore followed by cedary tobacco infusions, traces of black olive and spicy dried herbs. Finely grained tannins are perfectly integrated with the fruit. Good depth with a long blackcurrant, vanillin cedar, tobacco, dried herb and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.

Other Reviews….
Planted in 1954 making this the oldest surviving cabernet sauvignon site in Coonawarra. A mere 60 years later, it makes its debut as a single vineyard wine bringing forth its unique elements that centre on savouriness. The excellent colour a given, so, too the fragrance of fruit, florals and flowers. But the palate is key - all poise with vitality and quite distinct tannins - more textured like raw silk. Drink by 2036.
