2014 Woodstock Deep Sands Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

Produced from a blend of 67% Shiraz and 28% Cabernet Sauvignon with a splash of Tempranillo (5%) also included. Maturation took place in a combination of 2 and 3 year old seasoned French and American oak for a period of 12 months.

Combines the fleshy richness of Shiraz with the sturdy structure of Cabernet.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. The nose throws up aromas of ripe blackcurrant and liquorice intermixed with hints of blackberry, vanillin cedar and spicy tobacco. Plump and juicy in the mouth yet with good underlying structure contributed by the Cabernet component, the palate possesses flavours of ripe blackberries, blackcurrant and liquorice over vanillin cedar and spice. Fine grained tannins provide a solid framework. Good length with a long blackberry, ripe blackcurrant, liquorice and spicy vanillin cedar aftertaste.
