The Steve Jobs of Wine’ is how Forbes magazine coined famed Napa winemaker Paul Hobbs. The Cocodrilo is part of our third shipment from his Argentinian project Vina Cobos and in typical Paul Hobbs fashion it’s a flamboyant, richly textured effort loaded with gob smacking fruit. In essence it’s a very new world rendition of Argentinian Cabernet.

An Outstanding rich and expansive Cabernet with fabulous balance between the wines muscular tannin structure and fleshy richness of fruit.

Produced from a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc and 9% Malbec with maturation taking place in American oak, of which 20% was new, for a period of 14 months.

Superb impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Heady aromatics of cassis and liquorice infiltrate the olfactory senses with some black cherry nuances also present sitting over a backdrop of lightly toasted vanillin oak, dark chocolate, faint earth and spice. A big mouthful of flavour this rich, well-proportioned Cabernet saturates the palate with rich blackcurrant, cassis and liquorice underpinned by nuances of subtle dark chocolate, well integrated toasty oak and spice. Opulent chewy mouthfeel with the wines tremendous breadth and power held in check by a solid framework of muscular tannins. Very long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrants, cassis, liquorice, toasty vanillin oak and spice.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 14.7%
