Totally opaque black dark purple colour with a deep dark purple hue. Lifted aromas of liquorice, blackberry and dark plum are overlaid by some distinct clove notes with ensuing subtle dark chocolate, smoky oak and spice. Rich and satin like in its textural feel the palate is generously endowed with flavours of liquorice, dark plum and blackberries infused with clove over some toasty cedar. Spicy finish with velvety, yet also structured tannins showing excellent integration to the fruit. Long spicy aftertaste of dark plum, blackberry, liquorice, clove infusions and toasty cedar. Rich, savoury and spicy.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.1%

Other Reviews….
All of the mainstream red winemaking options are used, demanding (and receiving) unrelenting attention to detail. This is a hero Barossa Valley shiraz, its backbone planted in 1847, with great colour, profound complexity, yet retaining a calm personality within its array of primary, fresh flavours. Drink by 2044.
