Torzi Matthews entry level Shiraz is sourced from the Frost Dodger vineyard but does not utilise any of the rack dried fruit. It is aged old Frost Dodger barrels as well as seasoned French oak for a period of 19 months. 30% whole bunch fermentation was employed.

A rich seductive style of Shiraz.

Magnificent colour saturation displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark crimson red black hue. Lifted aromas of ripe dark plums and liquorice overlay some smoky vanillin cedar, a hint of fennel and spice. Rich and plushly textured the palate boasts opulent flavours of liquorice and dark plum intermixed with some dried cherry characters followed by fennel, smoky vanillin cedar and spice. Satiny tannins with a long aftertaste of ripe dark plums, liquorice, fennel, smoky vanillin cedar and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc 14.5%

Other Reviews....
In fine form. Power and personality. Floral and meaty but bulging with dark berried fruit. Draws you in and keeps you there. Eden Valley written all over it. The pretty face, the powerful body. The finish is not a disappointment, the value exceptional. Drink by 2023.
