Sons of Eden is a partnership between winemaker Corey Ryan and viticulturist Simon Cowham who both learnt their trades in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley. The name of this wine is taken from Zephyrus, the Greek god of the west wind who is often depicted as a horse. The vineyards of the Barossa are regularly buffeted by cooling Westerly winds creating an ideal temperature range in which to slowly ripen Shiraz. A blend of cooler climate Eden Valley (39%) fruit and warmer Barossa Valley (61%) fruit sourced from a wide range of vineyard sites with vines aged between 18-60 years old. Maturation took place in a mix of new and seasoned oak hogsheads, predominately French, for a period of 18 months.

Supple and fleshy with a rich core of Barossa fruit that glides across the palate like liquid satin

Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Intense ripe black cherry, blackberry and liquorice aromas jump from the glass over some lightly smoked vanillin cedar, fennel and spice. Full bodied and rich, succulent flavours of black cherries, dark plums and liquorice glide across the palate in opulent fashion with background nuances of smoky vanillin cedar, fennel infusions and spice. Satin like texture with silky smooth tannins. Superb concentration and power finishing with a long aftertaste of dark plum, liquorice, smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and spice.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc 14.5%
