2014 Shottesbrooke Eliza Reserve Shiraz

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. Pronounced liquorice, dark chocolate and blackberry aromas are trailed by toasty vanillin oak, light earthy mocha characters and spice. Rich, concentrated flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice and mocha have a plush feel. Sitting beneath is toasty vanillin oak, traces of scorched earth and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Excellent power with a long liquorice laced aftertaste of ripe blackberries, dark chocolate, toasty vanillin oak, earthy mocha and spice.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Holding hue well, with no hint of change; there is a distillation of McLaren Vale shiraz, full-bodied yet so perfectly balanced that you don't hesitate to taste it several times. Savoury, spicy notes come first, but are promptly upstaged by the bow wave of blackberry fruit, dark chocolate a cultured farewell. Drink by 2039.
