2014 Sevenhill Br. John May SJ Reserve Release Shiraz

Matured in 100% new French oak hogsheads for 2 years. Pitch black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Potent black cherry, liquorice and blackberry aromatics burst out of the glass followed by smoky vanillin cedar, hints of choc mint and spice. Very rich and voluptuously textured the palate is a liquid concentrate of liquorice, blackberry, black cherry and choc mint fruit. Sitting beneath the dense voluminous fruit is vanillin oak, subtle scorched earth and spice. Outstanding power and density with sturdy yet very polished and velvety tannins. Concludes with an exceptionally long and opulent aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
