2014 Rockcliffe Single Site Cabernet Sauvignon

From a yet another outstanding growing season this excellent Cabernet saw maturation in French oak, 30% of which was new, for a period of 16 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue tinged by black. Elevated blackcurrant and mulberry aromatics laced with bay leaf are followed by cigar box, hints of black olive and spicy dried herbs. Medium to full bodied, elegant yet at the same time rich the palate is filled with ripe blackcurrant and mulberry flavours that are infused with traces of bay leaf, cedary tobacco characters and spicy dried herbs. Slightly dryish finish with firmly structured yet fine grained tannins providing an excellent framework. Fantastic length with a long conclusion of spice, blackcurrant, ripe mulberries, faint bay leaf, cigar box and earthy dried herbs.
