Totally opaque midnight black colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Showing good elevation aromas of ripe blackberries and blackcurrant combine with some liquorice over vanillin cedar and earthy blackpepper end notes. Rich succulent ripe blackberry, blackcurrant and liquorice flavours fill the mouth with underlying vanillin cedar and blackpepper. Chewy finish with dry firmish tannins imparting some grip on the back palate. Excellent volume and length with a long aftertaste of ripe blackberries, blackcurrant, vanillin cedar, scorched earth and a burst of blackpepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.5%

Other Reviews….
A 75/25% blend, `machine-picked, destemmed, crushed to small open fermenters, cultured yeast, long post-ferment maceration, matured for for 15 months in French oak (30% new). A bold, rich and complex blend, seemingly operating way below its expected price range; it's flush with blackberry, blackcurrant, plum and licorice, even the contribution of French oak pushed back stage. The price is embarrassingly low. Drink by 2039.
