Martinborough is the oldest and best known wine area within the Wairarapa region and is primarily recognised for the production of world class Pinot Noir. Under the Pencarrow label, which is the second label of Palliser Estate, this Pinot Noir has built a solid reputation as one of the best value for money Pinot Noir’s to be found in the marketplace. Fruit is sourced from vines between 7-23 years old with resultant wine matured for 12 months in oak of which 23% is new.

A deliciously rich, fuller style of Pinot that’s packed with juicy dark fruit flavours

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red purple hue. Fragrant violet and anise laced dark cherry aromas are followed by some ripe dark plums, toasty oak and spice. Excellent weight and richness with mouthfilling flavours of ripe dark cherries, anise and dark plums prevalent over toasty oak and spice. Full, generous textural feel with velvet smooth tannins. Long spicy aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, anise, dark plums and toasty oak. Great value.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
