2014 Moss Wood Chardonnay

Renowned for their world class Cabernet Sauvignon, Moss Wood are also capable of producing impressive Chardonnay. From the near perfect 2014 season the resultant wine underwent full malolactic fermentation and was matured in French oak (43% new) for a period of 20 months.

Brilliant pale straw colour with a hint of green around the edges and a watery hue. Pronounced scents of ripe peaches and apricots intermixed with honeycomb are followed by some waxy butterscotch like notes, cashew and spicy nougat. Rich and full with a creamy texture the palate boasts mouthfilling flavours of ripe peaches and apricot interlaced with honeycomb, bees wax and butterscotch followed by some cashew and spicy nougat. Despite its fullness the palate remains fresh. Clean dry finish. Excellent depth with a long aftertaste of ripe peaches, apricot, bees wax, light butterscotch, cashew and spicy nougat.
