2014 Morambro Creek Chardonnay

Matured for 12 months in new and seasoned French oak barrels. Bright straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a pale straw hue. Top notes of ripe peaches and honeycomb meld into some toasty oak, light butterscotch and spice. Medium weight and broadly textured with a good level of immediate richness that unfortunately does not carry through to the finish. Present are ripe peach, honeycomb and toasty oak flavours with a touch of spice ensuing. Despite the broad mouthfeel there’s a lick of acidity on the finish to freshen things up. Lacks depth with a moderate aftertaste of honeycomb, roasted nuts and spice.
