A Chateauneuf du Pape inspired blend of 58% Mataro, 22% Grenache and 20% Shiraz with each parcel of fruit vinified separately and aged in old French oak hogsheads for a period of 12 months. The name Moonlight run takes its name from the repetitive nightly drive from the Barossa to Clare Valley that winemakers Dan Standish and Jaysen Collins would endure during the 1999 harvest.

Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. The nose displays freshly crushed ripe dark cherry aromas alongside dark raspberry and plum with underlying notes of liquorice and spicy earth. Full bodied the palate possesses rich succulent black cherry, dark plum and subtle liquorice flavours followed by a touch of inky earth like characters and spice. Soft velvety feel and very fine grained smooth tannins. Aftertaste of black cherries, ripe dark plums, liquorice and spicy inky earth.
Cellar 3-4 years.
