Located in Tanunda in the Barossa, Linke remains a 5th generation family owned producer. Their two vineyards - the "Stonewell Block" on the western side of the Barossa, and the "Dorrien" which is on the valley floor, consistently produce top notch fruit for renowned labels (including St Halletts and Langmeil, as well as being recognised at Penfolds as a "Top Shelf’ grower). Since 2002, a portion of fruit has been reserved for the family's own label.

The perfect foil to a cold winters night, Linke Shiraz pushes the boundaries of flavour and texture well beyond the industry accepted norm for its price point.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced aromas of liquorice, dark plums and ripe blackberries arise from the glass over some liquorice allsorts, confectionary and spicy vanillin oak. Full bodied, opulently rich and voluptuously textured the palate is loaded with abundant liquorice, ripe blackberry and ripe black cherry flavours with nuances of dark chocolate and spicy vanillin oak also evident towards the finish. Despite the relatively high alcohol level there’s no heat. Outstanding power and concentration with a slippery lush textural feel and satin like tannins. Long conclusion of liquorice, ripe blackberries, subtle dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc 15.5%
