2014 Koltz The Pagan Shiraz

Totally opaque black as night core with a dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of ripe Morello cherries tinged with nail polish like characters detract from the overall wines appearance. Earthy vanillin cedar, hints of old leather and spice are also apparent. Grapes dried on racks for 7 weeks have produced a big ripe palate with flavours of black plums, Morello cherries and dried cherries melding into some liquorice, earthy cedar, old leather and spice characters. Opulent mouthfeel, robust tannins and excellent power. Aftertaste of black plums, liquorice, Morello cherries, vanillin oak and traces of spicy old leather.
