2014 Kilikanoon Covenant Shiraz

Matured in small French oak casks for 18 months. Impenetrable midnight black core with a deep dark red black hue. Intense liquorice top notes dominate the aromatics followed by black cherries and dark plums over a back drop of fennel, lightly smoked vanillin cedar and pepper. Gorgeously rich flavours of liquorice, ripe black cherries and dark plums meld into some smoky vanillin cedar, fennel, a touch of meatiness and blackpepper. The opulence of the fruit counter pointed by a solid framework of tannins. Excellent power and concentration with a long liquorice, ripe black cherry, dark plum, smoky vanillin cedar, fennel, dried meats and pepper aftertaste.
