Bottle
$395.88 Dozen
Cellar: Drink now - 6 Years (2016-2022)
ABV: 14.5%
Closure: Stelvin

A blend of 47% Shiraz, 32% Grenache and 21% Mourvedre aged in French oak for 14 months, 10% being new with the balance 3-6 year old barrels.

Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Scented aromatics of liquorice and ripe blackberries dominate the nose followed by some plum, subtle dark chocolate infusions, scorched earth and spice. Rich with a soft fleshy mouthfeel the palate is flooded with liquorice, dark plum and dark chocolate flavours over a backdrop of scorched earth and spice. Well integrated velvety tannins. Excellent length with a long conclusion of liquorice, dark plum, subtle dark chocolate, earthy vanillin cedar and spice.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc 14.5%

Other Reviews….
A 47/32/21% blend drawn from old vineyards in a number of districts, Krondorf the one constant, fermented with submerged cap (header boards), matured in French hogsheads (10% new). As is appropriate, complex, but largely fruit-driven, with red cherries/berries and plums to the fore, oak and (particularly) tannins taking a back seat. Drink by 2026.
