2014 Izway Bruce Shiraz

The Izway Bruce is sourced from two vineyards which complement one another beautifully to produce this outstanding Shiraz. The Schubert Block 3 Shiraz is located in Marananga on the famous Roennfeldt Road and provides the backbone and structure to the Bruce. Fruit from this block is characterised by high tone aromatics and amazing tannin structure. These characteristics balance perfectly with the depth and concentration that the original Bruce vineyard provides.

An immensely rich and hedonistic Barossa Shiraz, yet remarkably balanced, complexed by whole bunch fermentation characters.

Superb colour saturation displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Potent aromas of liquorice, blackberry and dark plums intoxicate the olfactory senses with notes of toasty vanillin cedar, some fennel infusions and spice ensuing. Rich and power packed yet surprisingly light on its feet with a deceptive freshness to the finish, the palate sports voluptuously textured flavours of liquorice, blackberries, plums and blueberries which hold sway over underlying smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and spice. Silky smooth tannins concluding with a very long and savoury aftertaste of liquorice, dark plums, ripe blackberries, subtlety smoked vanillin cedar, fennel infusions and spice.
