2014 Hurley Vineyard Hommage Pinot Noir

Matured in French oak, one third new, for 18 months. Semi translucent dark red core with a bright crimson red hue. Violet top notes overlay dark cherry and strawberry aromas with ensuing toasty oak, dried meats and spice. Light to medium bodied the palate features generous fruit flavours of ripe dark cherries and strawberries which collide with some dried meat characters, lightly toasted cedar and spice. The mid palate is slightly juicier than the Lodestone with well judged acidity and fine grained tannins providing the structure. Finishes with a medium to long aftertaste of spicy ripe dark cherries, strawberries, some meatiness and spicy cedar.
