2014 Gilligan Shiraz Mourvedre Marsanne

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced liquoricy aniseed aromas dominate the nose with ripe black cherry, blackberry, confectionary and smoky blackpepper notes following on. The palate impresses with its concentration and richness delivering a big mouth full of liquorice and ripe black cherry flavours infused with blackpepper over some smoky dried meat characters, a faint trace of honeysuckle and spicy earth. Fine grained, sturdy tannins carry the opulence of fruit well. Long aftertaste of liquorice, black cherries, smoked meats, subtle earth and blackpepper.
