A blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre aged in oak foudres for 18 months, Guigal’s Cote du Rhone is consistently one of the most reliable wines on the market. Totally opaque black dark red core with a dark red hue. Lifted aromas of black cherries, liquorice and black raspberries meld into some scorched earth, leather and pepper notes. Medium bodied with good richness and a slightly chewy finish the palate possesses flavours of spicy black cherries and liquorice over scorched earth, hints of leather and peppery dried herbs. Slightly dryish, robust tannins. Solid depth with a medium to long spicy black cherry, liquorice, scorched earth, leather and dried herb aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years.
