Very deep opaque dark purple colour with a bright dark purple hue. Nosing conjurs up aromas of black raspberries and liquorice followed by some smoky incense like characters with light pepper end notes. Possessing good weight and richness the palate sports generous flavours of dark raspberries, black cherries and liquorice over peppered dried meats and spice. Slightly chewy mouthfeel, particularly towards the finish. Good structured tannins with an aftertaste of black cherries, dark raspberries, liquorice and peppered meats. A little tight at present this should open up nicely over the next 3-4 years.
