This wine has been co-fermented with 5% Viogner. Very deep dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. The nose shows wonderful intensity with perfumed like scents of dark plum, ripe dark cherries, subtle liquorice and violet infusions followed by faint clove, subtle dried apricot and spice. Power without weight best describes the palate. Mouthfilling flavours of ripe dark plums and cherries sit alongside a touch of liquorice with clove infusions, dried meats, toasty cedar and pepper following. Elegant supple mouthfeel and very savoury. Exceptionally fine grained perfectly integrated tannins. Superb length with a very long aftertaste of dark plums, ripe dark cherries, subtle liquorice, spicy clove, dried meats and pepper.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
The bright hue and perfumed bouquet run true to type for this modern classic, setting the bar for the co-fermented blend several years ago. It has a set of flavours that are unique, and can fool even expert tasters in blind tastings, its cross-thatched flavours (not textures) need careful navigation. Drink by 2034.
