Best’s Bin 0 Shiraz is produced from the four original Shiraz plantings in the low yielding blocks of the historic Concongella vineyard at Great Western. This includes nineteenth century and mid twentieth century plantings of Shiraz.

The wine possesses a youthful inky black dark purple colour with a bright dark purple hue. The aromas build intensity with time in the glass with scents of inky dark cherries and fresh blackberries intermixed with a hint of liquorice emerging over some vanillin cedar, light earth and spice. Still just a baby the palate has all of the core ingredients to grow into something special. Rich, yet elegant with mouthfilling flavours of inky blackberries, liquorice and dark plum overlaying a background of scorched earthiness, vanillin cedar and blackpepper. Dryish finish with very fine grained, structurally solid tannins. Long aftertaste of inky blackberries, liquorice, dark plum, spicy scorched earth, vanillin cedar and pepper. An outstanding Bin 0 that will require a lot of patience.
