This Montepulciano was awarded ‘Best Italian Red Wine’ by Italian wine critic Luca Maroni who rated it 99 points. Magnificent colour saturation displaying an impenetrable inky black dark purple core with a very deep dark purple black hue. Heady aromas of black cherry liqueur, liquorice and chocolate meld into toasty vanillin oak and spicy earth. Full bodied, very rich and possessing an opulent mouthfeel, whilst there’s an abundance of succulent black cherry, liquorice and dark chocolate fruit, a hefty dose of toasty vanillin oak is also evident which overtakes the back palate along with some spice. Chewy tannins are largely absorbed by the voluptuous fruit. Long aftertaste of toasty vanillin oak, black cherry liqueur, liquorice, dark chocolate and spice.
Cellar 2-3 years.
