Maturation took place in new (12%) and seasoned French oak for a period of 22 months.

Without a Doubt One of the Best Struie’s Produced

The 2013 Struie has fantastic colour saturation displaying an impenetrable midnight black core and a very deep dark purple black hue. Intense aromatics of dark plum, ripe blackberries and liquorice leap from the glass followed by some chocolatey oak and vanillin spice. Full bodied with a liqueur like richness the palate boasts plushly textured flavours of ripe blackberries, dark plums and liquorice that encase every crevasse of the mouth over a background of dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice. Outstanding concentration and power with all of the component parts working in perfect harmony with one another. Very fine grained, polished tannins are largely concealed by the ground swell of opulent fruit. Exceptionally long finish of ripe blackberries, dark plums, liquorice and spicy vanillin oak.
