Cellar: 5 - 6 Years (2020-2021)

Rich, luscious Barossa fruit swamps the palate over a sturdily built framework.

Matured in American oak for a period of 14 months with 40% being new oak. Excellent colour displaying an impenetrable midnight black core and a very deep dark red black hue. The nose shows impressive intensity with aromas of liquorice, dark chocolate, dark plum and ripe blackberries filling the nostrils with underlying vanillin cedar and spice notes. Rich luscious palate flavours of liquorice, dark plums and blackberries intermixed with traces of bitter dark chocolate dominate over vanillin cedar and spice. Dryish finish with slightly chalky tannins and fresh balanced acidity framing the fruit and firming up the finish. Long aftertaste of blackberries, dark plums, subtle dark chocolate and spicy vanillin cedar.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews…
Champing at the bit to show off its sweet, jubey fruit but chains of herb-shot tannin keep the class in order. There is no doubting this is a beautiful wine to drink. It sits on the cusp of jamminess, all jellied and blackberried, its hints of raspberry and mint simply ramping the deliciousness higher. Value, what value. Drink by 2028.
