Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red-purple hue. Pronounced ripe black cherry and liquorice aromas overlay some subtle incense infusions, meatiness, scorched earth and black pepper end notes. Medium to full bodied with an inky richness the palate has flavours of black raspberries and liquorice intermixed with scorched earth and new leather with black pepper infusions on the dry chewy finish. Firmish tannins providing the structure. Long aftertaste of black raspberries, liquorice, new leather, dried meats and pepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14%

Other reviews....
Made from 70% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre and aged mostly in 1 to 2-year-old barrels, the 2013 Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes is another superb looking 2013 from Michel. Offering beautiful purity in its black and blue fruits, violets and spice, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a rounded, supple texture, impressive concentration and juicy acidity. I love it for its core of fruit and approachable feel, and it should evolve gracefully.

Brilliant ruby. Spicy red and dark berries on the highly perfumed nose. Silky, expansive and appealingly sweet, offering intense black raspberry and bitter chocolate flavors and a suave floral nuance. Sweet and broad on the subtly tannic, clinging finish, with lingering notes of red berries and spicecake.
