Matured in a combination of French and American oak for a period of 18 months this is a wonderfully soft, well balanced wine with loads of rich fruit.

Summerfields tradition is produced from a blend of 46% Merlot, 25% Shiraz, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc. Opaque black crimson colour with a dark crimson black tinged hue. Aromas of blackcurrant, mint and liquorice overlay some leather, earth and spice. Rich, juicy and soft the palate is generously endowed with flavours of blackcurrant, spearmint and liquorice followed by vanillin cedar and spice. Velvety tannins. Aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, liquorice, mint and spicy vanillin cedar.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc 13.3%

Other Reviews….
A 46/25/21/8% blend of merlot, shiraz, cabernet and franc. A luscious blend that really comes into its own at this level of alcohol; there is no pinching of flavour by green tannins, nor the slightest hint of any blowsy fruit. Excels itself. Drink by 2033.
