2013 Rockbare Barossa Babe Shiraz

A bounty of riches, Barossa Babe is the poster girl for big opulent Barossa Shiraz.

Matured in French oak for 24 months. Outstanding colour saturation with an impenetrable inky black core and a very deep dark purple black hue. An amalgam of dark plum, ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas waft from the glass with underlying dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice notes. The palate possesses Babe’s traditional flamboyant richness and power but like so many other 2013 Barossa Shiraz is also a little firmer in structure. Voluptuous fruit flavours of ripe blackberries, dark plums and liquorice overlay a backdrop of dark chocolate, vanillin oak and subtle spicy mocha. The tannins have an underlying firmness yet take on a velvety appearance beneath the huge core of fruit. Superb concentration and depth with a very long and persistent finish of ripe blackberries, dark plum, liquorice, subtle dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice.
