Medium to full bodied with a rich meaty textural feel the palate features flavours of liquorice, black cherries, dried meats, smoky cedar and pepper. Fine grained tannins with a good underlying structure providing the finish with a slightly chewy feel. Long aftertaste of liquorice, black cherries, meaty characters, smoky cedar and pepper.

Other Reviews….
From the vineyard owned by the Patritti family, hand-picked, 4-day cold soak, whole berry ferment with 5-10% whole bunches, matured for 12 months in French barriques. This is a mighty wine, every step in the winemaking precisely calibrated to reflect the high quality of the fruit; this might well come from an even cooler climate than Blewitt Springs, itself the coolest part of McLaren Vale. Gloriously cadenced black fruits are the core, although French oak and tannins are also significant contributors. Drink by 2043.
