Totally opaque black red colour with a deep bright crimson purple hue. Aromas of liquorice and black cherries intermingle with smoked meats and earth all overlaid by blackpepper. Medium bodied the palate has a rustic flavour profile of liquorice, earth and black cherries with a meaty background and some pepperiness following on. Dry chewy finish with the firmish tannins providing some chalky grip. Aftertaste of earthy liquorice, black cherries, dried meats and pepper.

Other Reviews….
Destemmed and cool-macerated, 8 days before wild yeast fermentation in small open fermenters, then French oak (25% new) for 11 months. Vivid colour; a potent, unequivocally full-bodied shiraz, reflecting its place (in Geelong) and its maker to equal degrees; there is an abundance of black fruits, licorice and bramble, welded together by powerful tannins. Made for the child born today who will live for 150 years. Drink by 2043.
