The name ‘Bernoota’ was the original name given to the homestead on the Lake Breeze property – it is Aboriginal for ‘camp among the gum trees’. The 2013 Bernoota is made from a blend of 60% Shiraz and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and matured in a combination of American and French oak barriques for 20 months.

One of the best Bernoota’s produced to date, this is a delicious fruit loaded effort that’s sure to please

Outstanding impenetrable midnight black purple colour with a deep dark purple hue. Pronounced aromas of liquorice, blackberry and ripe blackcurrant are overlaid by some choc mint like characters with underlying cedar and spice notes. Medium to full bodied with an abundance of richness and a round supplely textured mouthfeel the palate boasts a generous flavour profile of liquorice and ripe blackberries infused with choc mint followed by some lightly toasted cedar and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Excellent depth and volume with a very long conclusion of choc mint, liquorice, ripe blackberries and spicy cedar. A ripe texturally polished Shiraz Cabernet blend with no shortage of fruit. Trophy winner at the 2015 Great Australian Red for the best wine $25 and under.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
