2013 Katnook Founder's Block Cabernet Sauvignon

It’s a rarity to find good Coonawarra Cabernet at this price point

Approximately 20 percent of this wine was matured for four months in a combination of French and American oak Barriques. Opaque black crimson colour with a dark crimson red hue. Scented aromas of ripe blackcurrants and mulberries are followed by some vanillin cedar, tobacco and delicate spice. Medium bodied the palate possesses ample up front richness with flavours of ripe blackcurrants and mulberries the driving force followed by spicy cedar and light tobacco overtones. Solid but very fine grained tannin structure. Excellent length finishing with a long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, subtle mintiness, cedary tobacco and spice. Great value.
