2013 Kangarilla Road Shiraz

Produced from the outstanding 2013 vintage this fantastic mid priced Shiraz is a sub-regional blend of several McLaren Vale vineyards. It was fermented in traditional open fermenters with heading board systems and in static open fermenters using gentle cap management techniques. Maturation took place in a combination French and American hogsheads, 25% new with the balance aged in 1 to 4 year old barrels, for a period of 16 months.

Full, Rich & Fleshy this is Classic McLaren Vale Shiraz

Totally opaque inky black colour with a deep crimson red black hue. Lifted aromas of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark plums overlay some vanillin confectionary and spice. Full bodied and rich with a juicy mid palate and solid backbone, mouthfilling flavours of liquorice and ripe blackberries are to the forefront followed by some dark plum, vanillin cedar and spice characters. Opulent texture with very fine grained, yet relatively solid tannins providing an excellent framework. Long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberries, vanillin cedar and spice.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
