Pirathon is an ancient word for pinnacle with Shiraz considered to be Barossa’s pinnacle grape variety. Another great vintage in the Barossa winemaker Troy Kalleske sums up 2013 as “…quality was amazing. Wines are rich, mouthfilling and extremely lengthy.” Sourced from a variety of Barossa’s top sub districts including Greenock, Moppa, Belvedere, Stonewell, Seppeltsfield, Koonunga and Ebenezer the wine was matured for 18 months in a combination of new and seasoned American, French, Russian and Hungarian oak hogsheads.

Long & sumptuous on the palate this is a Barossa Shiraz that Seriously Over Delivers.

Outstanding saturated inky black colour that’s totally impenetrable with a very deep dark purple black hue. The nose features black cherry top notes followed by some liquorice, dark plum, confectionary and light pepper end notes. Bold and luscious the palate delivers a rich lip smacking flavour profile of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark plum and a touch of black cherry followed by some vanillin cedar and spice. The wines polished tannin structure only further enhancing its plush textural nature. Excellent length with a long opulent blackberry, liquorice, dark chocolate, vanillin cedar and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
