Matured in 25% new French oak with the remainder in 2 and 3 year old barrels for 24 months. Totally opaque inky black dark red colour with a deep dark red black hue. Pronounced ripe blackcurrant, black cherry and liquorice aromas dominate over some dark chocolate, vanillin cedar and spice. Big rich concentrated palate that’s quite Shiraz like in terms of its richness and weight. Mouthfilling flavours of liquorice and ripe black cherries explode across the palate with cassis, toasty vanillin cedar and spice also present. Slightly chewy tannins provide some structure to the opulent fruit. Long aftertaste of ripe black cherry liqueur, liquorice, earthy vanillin cedar and spice. A bold rich Cabernet with lashings of black cherry and cassis liqueur fruit.
Cellar 4-5 years.
Alc 14.5%
