After 29 years as a winemaker with Penfolds John Duval started his own brand in 2003. With his Entity Shiraz his aim is to create a more elegant style of Barossa Shiraz and to this end a portion of Eden Valley fruit is included in the blend. Maturation took place in French oak, 35% of which was new for a period of 15 months.
Outstanding colour saturation displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark purple black hue. Pronounced liquorice, ripe fresh blackberry and dark plum aromas emerge from the glass over some lightly toasted vanillin cedar and spice. The palate boasts tremendous richness yet is quite refined in nature featuring mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, ripe blackberries and dark plum which overlay a backdrop of subtle dark chocolate, vanillin cedar and spice. Has great power and length without excessive weight. Velvety, perfectly integrated tannins. Long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberries, dark plums, vanillin cedar and spice.

Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 14.5%
