2013 Heathcote Winery Slaughterhouse Paddock Shiraz

The Slaughterhouse Shiraz is a single vineyard Shiraz with maturation taking place in new and one year American oak barriques for 16 months.

Super saturated colour displaying an inky black core with a deep dark purple black hue. Intense ripe black cherry, blackberry and liquorice aromas emanate from the glass followed by dark chocolate, subtlety toasted vanillin oak and spice. Full bodied, densely textured, rich and structured the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, ripe blackberries and dark plum over some subtle dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice. Dry chewy finish with a firmly built tannin structure. Excellent power with a long ripe blackberry, dark plum, liquorice and spicy vanillin oak aftertaste.
