2013 Eldredge Blue Chip Shiraz

Matured for 18 months in new American oak barrels. Totally opaque inky black purple colour with a very deep dark purple black tinged hue. Youthful and powerful the nose delivers scented aromas of ripe dark cherries, dark plum, freshly crushed blackberries and liquorice over some vanillin cedar and spice. Full bodied the palate is an exuberant youngster packed with opulent rich fruit including ripe blackberries, dark plum and liquorice over some vanillin cedar with a long peppery, slightly chewy finish. Solid firmly built tannins provide a robust support base to the wealth of fruit. Superb concentration, depth and richness with a very long blackberry, liquorice, vanillin cedar and pepper aftertaste. With some patience it should prove to be a stellar example of Clare Shiraz.
